The wedding of the year has finally come and gone, and what a wedding it was! We made the journey to Washington DC this past weekend to celebrate my lovely step-sister Michelle & her now husband (previously her boyfriend of over 10 years!) Aaron. Michelle made a
stunning bride, and Aaron cleans up pretty well himself! I'm not very familiar with DC, but the ceremony was at a charming little Catholic church, and the reception was at the amazing & historic Hay Adams hotel, across the street from the White House.
(Side note: We later learned that this hotel was the temporary home of the Obamas while they were waiting to move into the White House, as well as the site of some Bill Clinton naughties.)
The weekend was a fast one, but a good one. From rehearsal to rehearsal lunch to a pre-wedding party Saturday night, there was lots going on from the moment we arrived. Friends and family of the bride & groom had been in town several days before we got there, and so besides the usual last-minute prep that goes into a wedding - which is
always more than you expect - Michelle, Aaron and the family had to play host to out-of-towners. Oy!
Michelle & my step-mom Kim did the lion's share of the planning, coordinating & executing themselves, and after seeing their work, I'm convinced our future family business should change to wedding services. They had just about every detail covered and did it with style & grace the whole time. And then they showed up at the wedding and were the 2 best looking ladies BY FAR of anyone there. Kudos all around, ladies!
The newlyweds are taking a short breather, and then are off to Turks & Caicos for a few weeks. Uhhh, jealous.
Congrats you two! We couldn't be happier for you!
